Find and fix the cause of any problem with Ansys products that use the Ansys License Manager with following the process of elimination below.

1) License Server Connectivity Issue (Most Common)
Top 3 Causes
- The firewall on the License Manager or VPN is blocking communication.
- The license manager is out of date - different communication bugs are fixed in newer versions.
- The license server isn't specified properly or miss-spelled in the client license settings.

2) License Checkout Issue (Common)
Top 4 Causes
- Problematic Ansys settings that need to be reset back to default.
- Thinking you have a license checkout issue when you really have license server connectivity issue.
- The license manager is out of date - different communication bugs are fixed in newer versions.
- Your license is expired - HOW TO - Verify your license is valid and not expired

3) Software Doesn't Open/Run Properly
Does Ansys not open, crash, hang or throw non-specific errors? If so, this is likely a problem with the application or software it relies on. The most common causes and solutions of this are below.

4) CAD Plug-in Related Issue
Possible Causes
- Client settings/preferences are incorrect or corrupt

- You don't have a license required to use the 3rd Party CAD plugin.
- Another License Checkout Related Issue

6) Incorrect Operation of Software
Ansys is complex. Even if the software is installed and operating properly, incorrect project settings or workflow can cause errors. Maybe something is being done one way, but Ansys needs it done in another, or simply doesn't support it. Maybe the model design or settings are not correct/compatible.
