HOW TO - Generate a Personal Access Token for an Unattended Workflow

Description
Shared Web Licensing utilizes Ansys ID to manage access, and when running interactively will prompt the user to sign-in when necessary. However, when running unattended jobs, such as batch or scripted jobs, a token is necessary to take place of the user.
Solution
- Go to the Ansys ID Portal
- Sign in with your Ansys ID, if prompted
- Click on the round icon containing your initials at the upper right (to the right of the “?” icon)
- Select “Personal access tokens” from the menu
- Click on the blue “Create Token” button at the right
- Enter a Name for the token. Choose a meaningful name that you will recognize later
- Set an expiration date for the token. We recommend no longer than 1 year from the current
date - Click on the blue “Create” button
