HOW TO - Remove SSL Vulnerability in Ansys License Manager
Authored by Aaron Schedlin November 26th, 2024 117 views 0 likes KB2950855
Description
This article will walk you through steps to remove the SSL vulnerability that network security scans may reveal. This occurs from older installations of Ansys License Manager. Upgrading License Manager will install on top of the previous version(s) installed, leaving behind files from the older versions. This is not an actual vulnerability but is detected as such and below are steps you can take to remove it to clear the scan.
Solution
- Comprehensive uninstall of License Manager: Uninstall Ansys Software
- Install License Manager (please see note below)
Installing Correct Version of License Manager
If you are using Ansys products 2021R1 or older, the latest version of License Manager to install is 2023R2. Newer versions of License Manager do not include Licensing InterConnect which is used by the older versions. Once 2023R2 is installed, you can install the newest version of License Manager. For more information, see: HOW TO - Add FlexNet License Manager Support for older (2020R2 & prior) versions of Ansys
