ERROR

You do not have the ability to open a geometry in SpaceClaim from Workbench, and it does not appear as an option in Geometry Import as a preferred editor.

Description/Cause

SpaceClaim is no longer installed by default when installing Structures. SpaceClaim standalone needs to be installed in addition to the Structures package and needs to be configured.

*The cause(s)/solution(s) we identified in this documented instance may not be the only cause(s)/solution(s) for this error.

Solution

1. Manually install SpaceClaim standalone with Run as Administrator rights (if you do not have access to the downloads page from Ansys, email support@simutechgroup.com for a link to download.)

1. Once installed, close any Ansys applications you have open and run Ansys CAD Configuration Manager 2025R1 with Run as Administrator rights.
2. under CAD Selection tab, check SpaceClaim then hit next and exit.
